General Meeting Speaker: Laura Charameda, Team Swift Junior Racing Team

Laura Charameda, Head Coach and Director of Team Swift Junior Racing Team, will speak at the next monthly meeting of the Petaluma Wheelmen on June 4. Ms. Charameda was one of the top female bicycle racers in the county with victories that include two National Criterium Championships and a bronze medal in the World Championships. She was also a member of the U.S. National Women’s Team from 1993-1998.

Team Swift is a community- based youth bicycle racing organization. Its mission is to develop elite bicyclists from beginners. Riders of Team Swift range between 10-18 years old. The team helps move riders through the different stages during development as junior cyclists.

Ms. Charameda will talk about Team Swift’s training and racing program, antidotes of of young rider experiences and tales from her own career as a professional women bicycle racer.
