16th Annual High Sierra Fall Century

    Mammoth Lakes, CA

    30, 45 and 100 Mile Options

    September 11, 2010

CalTrans has repaired another 7 miles of Hwy 120 for this year’s ride – see below for details…

Come up to the cool High Sierra this fall for one of the most scenic and well supported century rides in California. Enjoy lightly traveled roads, with all right turns, no stop lights and only one stop sign on the entire course. Spectacular mountain vistas, the dramatic beauty of Mono Lake, six rest stops, including lunch, and post-ride barbecue and entertainment included with your entry fee.

There’s only about six weeks left before the 16th annual High Sierra Fall Century ride. The ride will take place on Saturday September 11, 2010. We hope you’ll be able to join us again this year!

We’ll ride the same course as in the past – 100 beautiful miles throughout the spectacular eastern High Sierra, and into the quiet beauty of the Mono Basin with awesome views of Mono Lake and the White Mountains. We will again offer two short courses of 30 and 45 miles.

CalTrans has paved an additional 7 miles of highway 120, leading up to and down the other side of Sage Hen summit. Its brand new smooth pavement and its very nice. In addition, some pavement near the junction of Benton Crossing Road has been improved. This doesn’t solve all of the pavement problems on Hwy 120, but CalTrans continues to work on more and more of the road, and what they’ve done this year is a very nice addition to the ride.

For details of this year’s ride, please see our website at www.fallcentury.org. For the easiest and fastest registration, please visit our online registration home at:

    http://www.active.com/page/Event_Details.htm?event_id=1861646

Credit card entries are only accepted at the above registration page. If you prefer to mail your registration there’s a printable registration form on our website. Mail-in registration is by check only.

The design and sizing features of this years Ride Jersey are now available! Featuring traditional bright pastels and bold graphics we have unisex jerseys in the traditional club cut as well as women's sleeveless tops and unisex vests. Sizing information is available on our website – click on the “jerseys” link.

As always, proceeds from this ride benefit the Sierra Cycling Foundation and other community groups in the Eastern Sierra.

The presenting and founding sponsors of the 2009 High Sierra Fall Century are the Sierra Cycling Foundation, the Eastside Velo Club, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, Footloose Sports and the Town of Mammoth Lakes.

The mission of the Sierra Cycling Foundation is to promote and improve cycling conditions in the Eastern Sierra. SCF advocates bicycle safety and education of cyclists as well as motor vehicle operators. SCF strongly supports the “Share The Road” concept.

We look forward to seeing you in September – please email us if you need any further information not provided on the website!
