Promotion

I have an idea, and would like some input. I want to make a film that will not only promote cycling in our county, but educate people about us as riders. My idea is a film that shows "what we are not", and "what we are". I need examples of both those categories. For example:

 1. What we are not

 a. Litterers

 b. polluters

 c. people who throw trash from their vehicles

 d. Causers of traffic jams and parking hassles

 2. What we are

 a. Healthy

 b. people who work with kids

 c. good for the economy by bringing dollars to local merchants.

Remember, these "Are nots" and "ares" will be short video clips, such as showing litter in a ditch, or a group of the junior riders for the Swift Cycling Club. It has to be good for a visual presentation.

It also has to make the case that we are not the problem they perceive. This is going to be about PR. We are not the enemy. We don't cost them that much time to be cautious when passing us, or to have regard for our safety. We need to tell them that those riders they've had problems with are not the exception that proves the rule.

I was thinking about "Before the Movie", that the various theaters in the county show before each feature.

Petaluma Public Access has cameras that can be used, if any of us is certified with them. I would like to hear from anyone who is. Else this project cannot go very far. I was also thinking the Sonoma County Bike Coalition might help us. Any input would help. Thanks.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Club's Website and Email List

Q: How can I renew my Club Membership from the Website?

A: The easiest way is to log-in to the website, and then click on 'View Profile'

On the PWCC home page there's a text entry box in the lower left portion where you type in your email address --we use your email address to identify you in our system-- and your password (there's a link to follow if you forgot your password, or you've never logged in before). Naturally, you have to already be a member to log-in. Once you're successfully logged in to the website as a member, you'll notice that your name appears along with a link to 'View Profile'

From 'View Profile' you can renew your membership, including changing your membership level, as well as setting other options.

Notice too that when you log-in to the website you gain access to the Members-Only content sections.
